Summary: Paper feed problems
Comment: I bought one of these printers for my mother. It works fine most of the time, but once in a while it produces a nasty paper jam. The last time I had to remove the cover (which required removing four screws) and using a screwdriver to rotate the wheel that moves the paper through. Big pain. But it's far more economical than the color inkjet it replaced.

Summary: Worked really well for about year
Comment: This printer worked well for a year. I was very satisfied with the quality at 600dpi. I used up the starter cartridge rather quickly and am on the new cartridge. But recently has started turning that red light on when attempting to print. There is nothing stuck but it thinks that paper feeder is open. After opening and closing the feeder it works and prints about one sheet and goes back into red light (off line error). I don't know how to fix it. Don't know if this is mechanical error or a firmware error.

I am rather dissatisfied that i couldn't use the cartridge to all its capacity. I do need a all-in-one copier,scanner so it looks like it is time to get rid of this one.

Comment: If you are looking for a small laser printer for home or small business, this is the one to buy.

I owned mine for nearly 3 years now. I print around 20 pages/week. So far I am still using the toner that came with the printer 3 years ago with no problem whatsoever. Never had an issues of any kind. Buttom line, spend a $130 on this printer, and you will not regret it.

Summary: No frills printer does the job--it is a workhorse!
Comment: Dirty little secret--manufacturers sell printers in order to make money on ink. Ever wonder why they give away free printers with computer packages?

I bought this printer for home business use. I print approximately 50 pages per day, but have printed several hundred a day using this printer. Use the toner save option. You can get close to 2000 copies with one cartridge. You can buy this printer for the price of a decent inkjet, and you will be able to print more for less, with better quality. For toner, if you are careful, you can get the refills, or just buy a remanufacturer one (they refill an old cartridge and resell it) online for about $35. Spill just a little toner, and you'll see the wisdom of this!
