Summary: Great bang for the buck but must have right combo
Comment: Bought four of these direct from Epson over a year ago. Currently using two actively with fantastic results. This little gem never clogs or messes up. The secret is not to use Epson's crappy ink. It is designed to make them money with wasted ink with continual cleaning cycles every time it starts. I instead threw their junk cartridges away and installed a Kyson [...] CIS system (continuous ink system) on each system and I have been printing as much or as little as I want with no clogging or any other problems. Kyson's ink is far superior to Epson's and is formulated so perfectly that I have had no problems what so ever with printing. I also use their system on an Epson R260 with even better results. I thoroughly tested the CIS units for over a year under all sorts of conditions and had no problems with their product and the prices are excellent. They also carry replacement ink which I have also used and it is fantastic. 317-536-8127 -Guy

Summary: GARBAGE - Epson should be ashamed
Comment: What a piece of junk. Sure the first week it printed fine. If you don't print with it everyday, the jets clog up. I was getting streaking galore the night before an important presentation. Then for no apparent reason it only printed magenta. I literally banged it with my fist really hard and the streaking lessoned - even after putting in brand new cartridges. Now i have $80 dollars worth of useless ink. Great. My C84 was only slightly better. Avoid epson like the plague. Phu Yuk!!!

Summary: An horrible machine
Comment: I just read all comments on this page, and I agree with all negative comments.
I went through 2 Epson printers this year, and I run a business at home.
I agree, the ink goes like crazy, and then, if for some reason, you didn't place
the paper correctly, it is simply the end. I just went crazy with the two machines!

Summary: C88 Inkjet Printer
Comment: Easy to hook up, love the printer and quality of print. Color is great but is does us the black ink very quickly -- but I still would have bought this one -- love it.

Summary: Nothing but grief
Comment: I bought this for my small home office after my ever faithful C80 died after 3 years. I wanted the newer model because it was good for printing out decent photos and I have a lot of images of artwork to print out. As I am writing this I am on my third replacement printer, now the C88+ and I've gotten nothing but trouble from the C88 and the C88+
Sometimes the machine will not print at all, so i had my assistant check it out. First she made sure the driver was set in Page Setup, but after a while it became even more pickier and the driver setting would change the driver setting on its own.
Then after we got that fixed the printouts came out faded, even after a NEW BLACK INK CARTRIDGE WAS INSTALLED! We called Epson and they sent us the newer C88+ and still we're getting grief. The first one they sent over died after about a week and a half, it just refused to print and kept saying the ink was out immediately after we put in a fresh one, and now the new one we have is doing the same thing, so we're counting down till that one refuses to print.
We have to jump through hoops to get these printers to work and they still end up gving back another problem or setting itself back to the same problem and when you're trying to run a business you have no time to babysit and obsess about a printer. When you buy a piece of equipment is it too much to ask that it actually work and do the task its created for? NO!
Do yourself a favor and please don't waste your precious, fleeting time and money on this plastic piece of trouble and grief.
