Summary: Fine Basic Functionality
Comment: I find that this printer works fine with CDs and DVDs that aren't pre-printed with heavy ink from the manufacturer. A nice "hand-writing" substitute when used as a stand-alone device, but really shines when used with the included software. I got mine for $30 on sale. Battery life is moderate to poor.

Comment: This item was returned soon after purchase. My wife tried it on the blank cd's we use and it did not work. Apparantly it only works on certain types of discs and we found that to be an inconvienence.

Summary: NO FOLLOW UP FROM MANUFACTURER
Comment: I have emailed the manufacturer at least 3 times. My problem is still a problem. Each time I attempt to print a label I have to rewind the ribbon. The manufacturer promised to send along a new ribbon to see if it would rewind but has not done so.

Comment: This is the perfect gift for anyone who loves to log all of their recorded DVD's. PUT DOWN THE SHARPIE!! I got this for my Dad for Xmas because he's constantly out buying bootleg movies or taping his tivo sitcoms on his DVD's and looking for that damn SHARPIE. He loves it and it makes his movies look 100% better than his handwriting!! Best purchase I've made so-far for my Dad. A++

The CW-K85 Disc Title Printer prints in 200dpi resolution and at 8mm per second on CD's and DVD's with a blank unlined surface. It has a USB port so you can connect it to your computer, an integrated keyboard and five pre-installed fonts so can print as a stand-alone printer.CW-K85 features a computer-like keyboard for stand-alone operation. A USB cable is also included for easy hook-up to a PC. The PC software includes five fonts, 650 symbols, step-by-step help and numerous templates. The printer can display 12 characters x 1 line data input and illustrates the CD-R, DVD layout. Any True type fonts are available via bundled software.The print format for the CW-K85 consists of 18 alpha-numeric formats and four graphic formats that you can select from. The CW-K85 is a thermal printer with a print area measuring 5/8" x 2 15/16." You can print up to 16 lines on a standard CD-R. The disc-title printer is powered by 8 "AA" size batteries or an AC adaptor.
