Summary: Think Twice Before Buying
Comment: Three and a half years ago we purchased a D760 Image Class copier from Canon. We paid $642 for the machine and am currently on the third cartridge. Cartridges cost $150 per cartridge - that's a total of $1092.00. The machine has a counter in it and to date, has made 5495 copies - that averages about .18 cents per copy. Last week film began coming out of the machine where the paper comes out, and I was told the machine needs a new fusing unit assembly at $200. Since I live in a rural area, the machine, which is quite heavy, needs to be driven down to the repair shop, about 90 miles away, for $255 worth of repairs. The machine has been great up to this point, but I'm beginning to wonder if its worth repairing at all, or simply smarter to buy another brand of copier.

Summary: lot more than desktop printer, love it for its full features
Comment: I used it only a few days, better than I expected, reliable, straight forward, no training needed. 30page adf on a table top copier un-heard of. printer has more features than I ever wanted on tabletop unit: overlay for office letterhead, also useful for watermark office logo, multipage print for record keeping in a tight space, toners are dirt cheap in the aftermarket, and hear good quality responses. I will find out soon. I may buy another for my home, if it goes on sale.

Summary: Expensive printer - Good for home use only
Comment: Canon D760 is a great printer as long as you connect it physically to a PC. Of course, very few buy a $600 printer for home use? A printer of this class is typically a network printer, shared by many, in a small office environment. If you are planning to network this printer using a print server, Canon D760 just falls short of expectations. Canon officially supports only AXIS 1610 model print server (through parallel port). The Axis print server retails for $200. Note that cheap and reliable alternatives like D-Link and Netgear print servers will not work with this printer. Though printer itself supports USB port. However, the USB port works only when it is connected through a PC. So, you cannot use a USB port print server with this product. With so many limitations (Many of which I did not even know, when I bought it), I would not recommend this product.

Comment: Great copies, turns on for immediate copies, turns off by itself, very quiet.

Summary: Canon D760
Comment: I bought this copier/printer to network with my computers. Like anyone who had computer experience I went and bought a print server. After many frustrating hours, I called Canon to find out the problem. I was told that the only print server that is compatible is the Axis 1610. I have looked at the manuals and the documentation. I have searched the web and NO WHERE does it state this. I feel a bit betrayed that this information is not stated anywhere.
However, as a ADF Copier it is fast and efficient. As a printer, the first page out is slow but all subsequent pages are quicl to print. Also, note the pages come out face up and therefore you must designate reverse order printing.
