Summary: mediocre all around
Comment: ...it jams frequently when trying to send a fax (I find myself having to stand next to it and feed papers through a lot.) It works well receiving though and the print and copy quality is OK. It's [an inexpensive]fax machine - you get what you pay for.

Summary: lid holder is too fragile and breaks easily.
Comment: We use our fax occasionally and found this unit to be unsatisfactory. Soon after the ninety day warranty expired the plastic housing parts that hold the lid top broke off and couldn't be found for gluing. We tried fixing it with small screws but the action of the fax put too much pressure on the screws and that broke as well. We threw it in the trash and bought a new machine with a one year warranty and a strong lid catch system.

Summary: FAX me
Comment: The ribbon tends to reach its end very quick, automatically printing the caller ID doesn't help its cause. As a FAX, it works well enough, do not try to use it to copy except maybe very rarely. Not a very good copier, if it were me, I wouldn't even advertise the copy function.

Summary: Don't buy Pansonic fax machine KX-FPC161
Comment: Panasonic KX-FPC161
This fax machine is poorly designed, having an obvious design flaw on a clip inside the unit that keeps the top closed.
I had one break and the service from panasonic was extremly poor.
No parts were available at all- backordered to Japan & no mention of when they would arrive.
I fought them long enough to finally get a new machine, then the same part broke again.
Faulty design, poor service & warranty- DONT BUY FROM PANASONIC

Summary: Tiny Ink Film Roll is a rip-off
Comment: The machine works just fine but the tiny 30 page starter ink film roll was a surprise. It should be marked prominently on the shipping carton that full rolls should be purchased at the time of purchase of the machine, or at least offer a rebate coupon for full rolls. It looks like a cost cutting measure at the expense of the consumer. The small roll caught me as a surprise when I needed the machine most.
