Summary: Nice Printer but difficult Driver/Software Installation
Comment: Nice Printer, but ...... difficult driver/software installation. Surprisingly amaturish for such a large corporation.

Summary: Just another disillusioned AIO 5300 user
Comment: Well, we got this product from a local retailer, not from amazon, they exchanged it and the 2nd printer failed to print on black and on grayscale. The first machine failed to boot for no aparent reason. Color prinintg is becoming bad too, Even after we installed new cartridges, run calibration and clean nozzle feature. We also updated the software. Also, kodak does no provide OCR software (for this model) Quality was good when it was new. but it didn't last more than 7 months...
I'm in the process of writing kodak support for assistance.
Based on relatives and my best friend experiences with HP, that's what my next purchase is going to be.
I consider myself pretty geeky, (I took some computer science classes in college, built my own gaming pc, created and maintain a webiste etc)
So, believe me when I say I did follow all of the possible troubleshooting procedures. This is my experience with this model (twice).

Summary: Very Pleased with Kodak
Comment: I wanted a cheaper way to print my photos and scan etc., and this product seemed to fit the bill. I have had this printer for over a year and have not had the problems that people have written about. I thought that the first pictures were not true to color but after having the same ones printed at Costco, I realized they were the same and not the printers fault.
I recently did have a problem with the print head, I followed the procedure from the web site and when that didn't repair the problem I emailed Kodak who replied the next day asking for my address. Two days later I had a new print head, new cartridges and some paper, very impressed by their promptness.
If you have to think twice about printing your photos because of the cost of ink, I really recommend this machine.

Summary: Beware, print-head goes bad!
Comment: Print-head stop printing black ink after replacing the ink on it 3rd round. Call Kodak support and they are shipping out another. They are very aware of the problem and hopefully this fixes it. They couldn't give me a guarantee that this new print-head would fix it, very scary because I've read that this has been a problem for quite a while now and that some are now on there 2nd or 3rd print-head. If this keeps happening, I will think again about buying a Kodak printer. They might offer cheaper ink cartridges, but saving on other things!

Comment: I've owned the easyshare 5300 printer for about a year now and have had no problems with it. But I do say that you get what you pay for and in my opinion the quality just isn't as good as some of the more expensive printers. The ink is cheap and affordable which is a plus in it's favor and it actually works on my vista computer. Anyone who has vista knows how hard it is to find software that will actually work on it.
Update: I would never recommend this printer, after changing the ink it now has an error which keeps telling me to change the ink. I went to the website which told me to download updates, which didn't fix the problem. After checking around on the internet it seems that a lot of people are having this problem with the 5100 and 5300.
