Summary: Great Camera So Far
Comment: Purchased this camera in November (2008) and so far it has been a great camera. Battery lastes long. It is easy to operate. The software is the best...even better than the Canon software from my wife's camera. I wanted to support an American company (with the economic conditions) so I bought a Kodak and have been very pleased.

Summary: Good Quality Camera
Comment: This camera works really well. I have not had any issues with is since purchasing it a few months ago. Its compact and the battery lasts a long time. You can charge it with a USB to AC adapter using the camera cord, which is nice. The lense can take some pressure on it as that tends to happen, no issues with scratching. All around good camera for the price.

Summary: Decent budget camera. Easy to use.
Comment: I needed a camera for a gift for a 9 year old girl, so it had to not be a toy, easy to use, good quality, and stylish to her. The pink M863 fits the bill. It takes decent pictures. It seems well built. The functions are well laid out, and easy to use. She has no problem downloading the pictures to her computer with the EasyShare software. She is very happy with it. Judging from the results of pictures taken in various conditions, it seems to take good, but not great pictures under most circumstances. All in all, it's a good camera for those on a budget.

Summary: LOVE LOVE LOVE IT
Comment: We bought this as a replacement for an older version that didn't survive a dip in the sink (it was actually our fault and not the kids'!). I didn't want a camera with too many buttons and functions, as I use it to take pics of the kids and need to point and shoot quickly before I lose the shot. I haven't had any issues with the camera. It's worked wonderfully from day one. The change from replacing batteries to re-charging it was a great new feature, as was the simplification of the wheel (though I see they've gotten rid of it completely on the newest version). We're considdering this for a gift for my mil, who is hopelessly stuck on her film camera and has minimal computer skills. I do have to agree that bright sunlight ruins your view on the screen, but I found it to be that way on pretty much any digital device. I believe most buyers looking for a good digital camera to invest in will be satisfied.

Summary: Kodak does not stand behind their products/ I do not recommend this camera
Comment: I have owned akodak camera for 13 months, I have gotten about 3 months use out of it. Kodak is notorious for freezing up. I sent it in twice and it comes back the same way. Now 1 month passed warranty the Kodak supervisor say's it's not his problem and they will not stand behind their products. It doesn't matter that it is the same ongoing problem because it is 1 month passed the warranty date. I would suggest you purchase a sony they rate much higher and the customer service is much better. These cameras work great for about 1 month then you can pitch it in the garbage. Good luck if you buy it.
