Summary: Nice Pics, Fast B&W Text, SLOOOOOW color print, BAD, BAD software, NOISY!!
Comment: Well, the printer prints very nice pics. The built-in touch screen controls work just fine, very convenient. The print quality couldn't be better IMO.
HOWEVER... whenever you turn the power on, the thing goes through about 60 seconds of noisemaking, running various motors, and doing God-knows-what to get ready to print something. I sure as hell hope it's not squirting out ink during this process... as I'll be wasting plenty with the number of times I turn it on and off.
AND... the color printing from a PC or MAC can be very, very slow, depending on which kind of paper you select. Wierd, the kind of paper doesn't seem like it would make that much difference, but it does...
THE SOFTWARE... well, I just don't know what to say. My wife installed the software on her Mac OS X 10.4 system, but it wasn't easy. The installation failed to make it through fully, requiring reboots and multiple attempts before the software would install successfully. However, she did end up with a working installation and can use the printer quite nicely now on her Mac.
On the Windows side of things, its a different story. The installation went smoothly, more or less, until you get to the product registration screen, then things hang. I somehow managed to plow through this (rebooting? I don't recall exactly...) and it seemed as if the printer had actually been installed. Then, reboot for good measure, and plug the printer in, so I can use it for the first time. My machine is running fine until the USB auto-detects the printer, then I saw something I HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE IN 20 YEARS OF WORKING ON PCs: "NT/AUTHORITY IS SHUTTING DOWN YOUR SYSTEM IN 30 SECONDS" and then everything on my system shutdown and the thing rebooted! I let the computer come back up again (with the printer disconnected from the USB), worked with it for a while, determined that everything seemed normal, then tried plugging the printer in again. SAME THING!
So, realizing the printer was toxic to my system, I attempted to download an updated driver from HP. There was one, and I somehow managed to force my way through the installation process (again)... the installer hangs, doesn't actually finish, but after forcing a shutdown and reboot, it seemed as if the installation might have succeeded.
I finally was able to print something from my Windows XP machine (Pro with SP2), but I am absolutely underwhelmed and annoyed with the slowness and clunkiness of this printer, even for black and white draft mode printing. We have an older HP Deskjet 952C which fires up from power off in about 2 seconds, and prints promptly and reliably. I just don't understand what's going on with the D7360 that it needs to do so much messing around when it powers up, but it takes a good 60 seconds or more to "warm up", and even longer to get ready to perform the first print job of the day.
If you buy this printer, do it for the good print quality but be prepared for annoying start up delays each power up, slow printing, and almost impossible software installation hurdles to overcome.

Summary: May be the worst product I've ever purchased
Comment: I've been working in IT for over 15 years and I've never purchased a more poorly designed product than the HP Photosmart D7360. It's huge. It's clunky. I think I could draw a picture faster than it can print one. It's advertised speeds are just a joke compared to what it actually prints at. You have to buy only HP paper to print and that's expensive and the photos stick together. You can't print more than 5 or 10 pictures in one print job or the printer for some bizarre reason gets confused and restarts the job from the beginning every time you have to change paper.
I still can't figure out how to make the stated dimensions of the printed picture conform to what's actually printed meaning many cutoff heads.
This is trash.
Go with a less expensive photo printer. You couldn't possibly do worse.

Summary: Review of HP Photosmart D7360 Printer
Comment: The D7360 is an amazing printer. I purchased my previous HP Photosmart printer 3-4 years ago (it still works fine and is hooked-up to another PC)but the D7360 is light-years ahead of it in terms of speed and overall performance. I do lots of draft-quality printing and the speed of this printer in draft mode is simply incredible. The quality in draft mode is good. I have printed about 20 photographs(of different sizes)and I am quite pleased with the printing speed and photo image quality. My previous Photosmart didn't print 5X7 photographic prints but this one does. I love the increased size of the small, lift-up touch screen on top of the printer. It's easy to work with.
Two final comments: First, the printer makes some interesting wrrrring and buzzing sounds as it prepares itself for printing but my sense is everything is ok. Second, and the only "negative" comment is that the "black" printing of narratives done in the "General Everyday Printing" mode isn't really black. It's a "lighter" black...with not much contrast. That's also the case, but to a lesser degree, in the "presentation" printing mode. Hope this helps in your decision.
