Comment: I am usually quite pleased with HP products. However, this time we have a lemon. I actually started looking on-line for any help I may get, but found these other negative reviews instead. Looks like I'm in the majority on this one. Printer jams ALL paper some times, but special papers like peel labels and perforated business cards (card stock) MOST of the time. You must line up the tray perfectly, and you discover this several wasted sheets later. I'm wondering if I can get a refund from HP on all the specialty paper their printer ate. Ha ha, yeah right! Okay, all printers jam at least occasionally. But when most of them do, you can open it up to get to the jammed paper. Not so with the 8250! Good luck plucking the tears of paper from the innards without tearing something up. On second thought, just throw the printer out of the highest window you can find. Finally, I am disappointed that I purchased this piece of junk at Sam's Club; where most of their products are of high quality. Looks like all parties dropped the ball on this one.

Summary: An excellent printer from HP
Comment: I bought this printer without reading any reviews about it. I felt it was a good value for the print quality and features it offered. I became very worried when I brought it home and read all the reviews for it. There were some stories of poor print quality, problems loading paper, ink being used quickly and so on. Well, I'm happy to say I have not had any of these problems. This printer has been great. It is fairly quiet and prints quickly. The print quality is excellent and it hardly uses any ink; and the paper loads without any problems. The best feature is the individual ink cartridges. Each cartridge holds more ink and is less expensive than a tri-color cartridge. And because each cartridge is used at a different rate you can just replace the one that is low instead of having to replace them all. I do not print everyday, so I am not sure if this printer is suited for a busy office that prints a lot, but for personal use at home this printer is more than capable and is a good buy.

Summary: Constant problems with the printer
Comment: I have purchased this printer last year and it printed fine up until 1 month after purchase. The printer could not pick up the photo paper nor the regular paper. When I try to print something, it does not feed into the trays. I have changed out the ink in the printer for yellow, magenta, and cyan, still says that it is out of ink. Frustrated and after several driver reloads, the printer still says that it out of ink. I've contacted technical support for HP and they could not help me after several attempts. I will not purchase another product from them until I see improvement. I do my research thoroughly and they have a bad case of false advertising here. This printer was a replacement of my photosmart 7550 which I have had for 4 years. I should have held on to it a little longer. I print huge documents that contain several pages and cannot even get a duplexer for this printer. My old one has a duplexer and I sold it to someone who wanted another printer. In this case I contacted HP to order one and they charged my credit card, however the duplexer never showed up. I spoke with a sales person who said that the part would not show up for another month! I was soo mad with them I asked for my money back and to cancel my order since I was lied to! I think whatever class action lawsuite that comes their way, the so much deserve. This is definately a case of false advertising. I am so mad at HP and how they do business now. They are a bunch of crooks! And the photos are grainy when they print out. I had to spend hours setting the printer out properly so it will print good quality photos.

Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER
Comment: Very disappointed with this printer. The first time I took out of box to print the rollers would not pick up the paper. It kept saying "out of paper". My husband had bought it for me as a gift and I did not remove from box until about 3 months after he bought it (I had a Photosmart 1000 that was doing a great job, he just thought this one was better for some reason). Unfortunately he could not locate the original sales receipt. Even though he had put it on Visa Office Max would not take it back. After being on the phone for 1 hour and 21 minutes with a customer service from HP (he was located in India) he finally told me "you need to clean your rollers". I told him it was BRAND NEW. He then switched me to another person who told me "the cleaning kits are on back order". That is when I realized there was a problem with the printer. He then told me "there was a problem with this printer and we are offering the cleaning device for free". Who knows if that would have corrected the problem or not? To make a long story short when I told him I had been on the phone for 1 hour and 21 minutes and that the kits were on a 2 month back order, he said "I am sending you a new printer (refurbished actually). I thought, great, at least it will work. It was delivered to my house 4 days later. I hooked it up, tested it before sending back the original one, and it worked. The next time I printed THIS ONE DOES NOT WORK! I'm ready to throw it in the trash and never buy HP again.
