Summary: Prints Photos, But Not Well
Comment: I was unsatisfied with the photo printing quality of this printer. The photos came out very pixellated. One of my pictures had the sun in it through the trees. Where the washed out part meets the trees, the picture noticeably loses detail. It's also redder by far than the actual file from which it was printed. Moreover, the blue sky's fade, which is smooth and gradual in the photograph, is grainy in the printed picture.
I intend to return this printer as soon as I can.

Comment: I purchased this printer to replace a HP PSC 750. It is a pretty good printer, especially for how much I paid for it. My only complaint is that the screen is kind of small. Other than that, I love it. Prints great pictures and the colors are fantastic.

Summary: Can not turn off, Scan does not function. Poor engineering
Comment: I bought this after my HP 5550 broke. Old habits are hard to break. HP is a dead company. The power button seems to be just for looks as you have to unplug it to turn it off. The scanner does not simply scan but has to communicate to special HP software that is very poor in design. The image sensor does not come to the edge of the scan table cutting off the edge of the text on pages I was trying to scan. When other scans went through it was cut into quadrants which only the top left quad was turned into the scan image by the software. This is useless to me. My brothers laptop fell apart and my sisters laptop did not work out of the box!! HP used to be a good company then they fired everyone here in Fort Collins and started to hire contractors and go the way of other American companies. Buy japanese or something else. This printer is the product of cheap chinese labor and outsourcing and it shows.

Comment: This printer is the fastest printer that I have seen. Great text and photos. The price was real good. I'm running it on XP had no problems setting it up if you do what the sofeware tells you to do. Have had no paper jams not a ink hog- it was a replacment for my I860 from Canon.
