Summary: The worst ever - HP you lost my business!
Comment: I have been a longtime fan of HP All-in-one's. This one changed my mind. I tend to buy the newest and keep it until it is way past due for replacement. I bought this when it first came out as my last HP All-In-One was no longer compatible with my new software no matter how many patches I added.
I had it about 6 months and then the plastic on the paper tray started to bend. I took it apart and tried to resituate it and it just never went back in. So I printed for a few months with the paper spewing out across the floor. Then the noises started. I lived with that for a while and then finally the print train just stopped moving.
That was the end of my 15 year relationship with HP! A printer should not just die like that after less than a year... I wasn't even using it daily.
My recommendation - keep your money...for something else

Comment: I was really happy to have chosen this unit. It does everything & it does it well. Couldn't ask for more. The only thing I would have liked to have included was wireless.

Summary: Everything we need in this All-In-One printer.
Comment: I first bought this printer in July 2006 - a little over 2 years now. It does everything we need, so, when it broke, and another was available, I bought it. (I have to say, it was very surprising that the first one broke in less than two-and-a-half years.)
The decision to replace our broken 6310 with a new 6310:
::: The bureaucratic process and cost of repairing the broken printer is mind bogglingly atrocious. Not to mention that we would have been without a printer/copier/fax/scanner for an undeterminably long time. (Thank you, Amazon, for delivering the new printer in only 2 days!)
::: I felt "lucky" to find the same printer because we have enough ink for this printer to make it worth replacing with the same model - this time, for only $99. (If the same ink cartridges would fit other models, I would have upgraded the printer.)
::: This printer is connected to our home network and is used by more than one person, so it was an advantage in that we did not have to go through another learning curve - as we likely would with another model.
This printer would get 5 stars because it does what HP promises, but since it broke after only 2.33 years, it gets only 3 stars (which is actually generous).

Summary: Important tip
Comment: We are satisfied with this machine for a home use. However the beginning was not so pleasant. A USB cable you need to buy separately. We bought a usual one and it couldn't establish connection to my PC. Failed time by time. The girl from support center spent two hours and finally recommended to change a USB cable. So, we had to spend another money and to buy a new, HP USB cable. I couldn't believe that that was a problem, but it worked smoothly.
Tip: don't waste money, buy only HP usb cable to this machine.

Summary: Great Printer
Comment: HP printers are great products, especially for home use. This printer has a sleek new design that takes up very little space. Installation is easy and all parts needed are included. Print quality is great and fast for a small printer.
