Summary: review of epson r2400
Comment: i upgraded from the epson r800 to take advantage of the monochrome quality of the r2400. i was blown out by the quality of my first several mono prints and then the color prints. the color management scheme was very easy to implement.the print-out matched almost exactly with my monitor image.i'm very pleased.

Summary: Great for advanced photo printing
Comment: I bought this printer more than a year ago and really like it. It is the next generation of Epson Stylus printer that uses pigments (not dyes) in their ink. While many pictures I used to print using the previous model (2200) look very similar when printed using R2400, it is easier and more convenient to use. And I saw improvements in certain colors. Not to mention faster speed. Which is even faster because in most cases I do not need to select highest printing quality settings to get the best print look. It takes only a few minutes to print a 13x19 inch picture. Of course, you still need to calibrate your display/computer to get the best results. I would highly recommend it.

Summary: Epson 2400
Comment: I bought this product a month ago. I was very excited to get it because I had heard so many good things about it. I began using it and I noticed I was having issues with the front loader smearing my pictures. Then the sheet feeder would not feed. THis all happened in a matter of using it only a few times. SInce I had a project due, I switched back to using my Epson R300. Mr. Reliable. Anyhow after my exhibit, I started using the R2400 again. It still wouldn't work. Having dealt with out sourced services groups before, I was reluctant to call but did. I do have to say that they were responsive. After a few questions and testing, they decided to send me a replacement. I received it within 4 days and immediately tested it out. So far so good. Although I do notice there is still a little smearing on the front loader but it may be the paper. I need to work with that more since I do a lot of work with canvas. Anyhow so far so good. I have loved my R300 so I am hoping that the new one will warm my heart as that one does. I haven't used everything on this so can only give a limited review. The colors are beautiful and vibrant. THe photos are breathtaking. Can't wait to use the black and white.

Summary: Great printer
Comment: Let me start by saying: YOU NEED TO CALIBRATE YOUR MONITOR WITH YOUR PRINTER TO GET THE BEST PRINTS. Also, go to Epson and download the printer profiles. I actually won this printer in a contest, and had never really used a top of the line printer like this. The first couple things I printed looked horrible, I was really disappointed. The color contrast was out of whack, they didn't "pop" at all. Then I went through the calibration process and things are much better. Try the velvet fine art paper, it's amazing!

Summary: A Very Good photo printer for color & B&W
Comment: This thing prints amazing color and B&Ws. If you don't need b&W's, save the $250 and get the R1800. Yep, the changing cartridges is a pain and it does drink ink, but if quality is your primary focus this is a good deal. It took me a while to get the color profiles setup between my computer and printer (make sure you have the paper profiles), but after some messing around I got it where I wanted it. I found epson luster paper to be great for color and velvet fine art paper my B&W choice (it's a bit softer than matte). When you buy this, make sure you spend another $100 bucks for the full backup color cartrigedes, it takes about 1 full set to get your colors right (or it did for me at least). But this is a professional level printer, and if you have good shots, this can be your one stop printer.
I would describe this as the Porsche of printers. Not cheap to maintain, and has some quarks, but for high performance it is a good value.
