Summary: Not for snapshot printing in a family setting
Comment: We got this printer to handle all our printing needs for a typical family home that takes a lot of digital photos but doesn't print out very many. Since we don't have a lot of printing needs - occasional web pages, office documents and infrequent photos - the printer sits idle for the majority of the time. Every time we go to print photos it's an hour-long ordeal of cleaning the print heads, printing test pages, burning through an amazing amount of ink - just for a couple photos for friends and family. Even for occasional web documents, if the printer's been idle for any amount of time, the colors are completely inaccurate, the tints are off and the quality is fuzzy.
This printer is capable of printing top-notch quality photos, but if you're expecting a printer that will sit there and be ready for you whenever you want it to go, you'll be disappointed. If you're printing photos every day, you might find this a better printer. My family and I have decided, however, to get a better quality photo-specific printer in the future. Until then, we print photos from online services and are very happy with the results.

Summary: Canon Kaput
Comment: My Canon i860 was less than two years when it stopped printing black on photos with the recommended Canon brand 6BI 6BK ink. On the advice of Canon customer service (10 min wait +$9.95), I did the usual deep cleaning three times and a head alignmnet. The result: magenta, blue, and non-photo black no longer printed, but the photo black now printed light. It was the usual suspect: the Canon print head. My previous Canon also had a print head go kaput. See previous review. The Canon service rep was very professional and deleted the service charage but I declined his offer of a "loyalty" discount on another Canon printer.

Summary: 1 1/2 Year and the honeymoons over
Comment: I'll be fair. This printer printed out some of the best photos of my life--pictures when I first was dating my boyfriend, family photos, when my boyfriend proposed to me, our first big trip together, and yes, even my cute little doggie. But the honeymoon is over. The printer broke down after a year and a half of use. The cause? You got me. I would've thought it would have lasted at least 2 years--but nope. Even my old HP is still running. The upside...I upgraded to the IP6000D. :)

Summary: paper jams
Comment: Good print quality when the paper actually feeds, it constantly has paper jams, I have to watch over it and refeed the paper, I think its because it only feeds from the right side and it gets pulled in at an angle. I have two of these and the problem is with both of them. Not a good design, probably why its no longer available.

Summary: Great Printing, but eats up ink and leaks in the end
Comment: I got this printer for work less than two years ago. It has a really nice print quality however the blues never come out right and it eats up alot of ink. I am now looking for another printer because it has started to leak black ink all over, depite my efforts to clean it, theres big gobs of semi dried ink that trails all over my paper when it prints.
