Summary: Great for this novice
Comment: I just wanted to add my two cents- this is a superb printer.
I finally broke down and bought this after reading reports and these reviews- and don't regret it for a second. Ease of set-up, printing quality and the low cost of the ink make this something we all want- a purchase that you never have to think twice about- great !

Summary: This printer is great!
Comment: I've looked around for reviews for inkjet printers all over the internet and I found that the Canon i560 and i860 have the best and most number of positive reviews. This is the reason why I bought the latest i560 printer from Canon and it did not disappoint. Print quality is excellent and the speed is awesome. I prefer the design of the i860 ($50 more) but I wanted a cheaper printer which I use mostly for text and low-to-medium res graphics printing. I also hardly print photos because I keep them all in CD-ROM and print one or two that I like to put in a frame. Both the i560 and i860 print excellent photos with the i860 slightly better because of the 2nd black photo ink for hi-gloss paper printing. BTW, one of the things I like about Canon printers is that they have separate ink cartridges for cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. This is very economical since you only have to replace the color that went empty instead of all the colors. Generic ink cartridges are also available on the internet which only costs a fraction of Canon's ink cartridges. They also have the best software driver where you can preview the print, create photo effects before printing and warns you which ink is low or empty.

I'm a little upset with Canon though because on May 2, Canon came out with a $30 mail in rebate for the i860. That is huge! If that rebate coupon came out a week earlier my buying decision would have been for the i860 since the difference would only be $10. One feature that I like about the i860 which no other printer has is the automatic alignment of printheads. All others you have to do a manual alignment routine that prints a page and asks you to pick the best aligned samples in a series of columns. It really sucks that they did not have a rebate for the i560.

Summary: Prints Photos just like Kodak
Comment: I recently purchased this printer and have been totally pleased with it's quality of printing - especially photos. It is smaller than my old printer but does more. I have been a Canon customer for many years and this printer by far beats them all.

Summary: Excellent quality for the price (just bought a 2nd one!)
Comment: I purchased the Canon i560s a few months back. I have been very happy with the print quality and ink useage. Canon ink seems to be much more reasonably priced for the number of pages you get.

Pros:
Great price
Excellent print quality
Affordable ink supplies
Color ink comes in 3 separate cartridges so you only have to replace the one that is low.
i560s came with excellent software tools

Cons:
Not the coolest looking printer on the block

Otherwise, this is a great deal for the price!
