Summary: Decent printer
Comment: Does a good job for the price. Separate cartridges for each color, which makes it affordable. The cartridges are reasonably priced also.

Summary: Good printer
Comment: Well I have had it now for 2 years its a good black and white printer and yes a good color printer for now color photos. I would not recommend this printer for photos and it can become expensive if you buy the cannon catridges for the $120 I paid should have been a bit cheaper and you can get the catridges on a auction site for a ton cheaper I got 5 black and white for $13 so I still use it for general printing clear printing but use it often so not to clog the heads now I would reccomend taking a look out there see if the technology has gotten better and cheaper if you get a deal on it go for it if not keep looking for now.

Comment: Bought the Canon i560 in the summer of 2004. was sold on the individually replacable cartridges, after having spent/wasted so much $$$ on the all-in-one cartridges of my previous printer. HOWEVER, I have found (and I guess I do alot of printing, both colour and b/w) that I need to change the cartridges ALOT.
Lately I've noticed the print quality has decreased, esp. with the black cartridge. I just recently replaced the black cartridge and print quality has not improved. I've cleaned the heads several times now but with no improvement. Re-aligning the heads does not help either.
Personally I want to chuck the thing out the window. My husband says that's what you get when you buy a cheap printer, but I didn't recall it being that cheap when we bought it.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? if so, do you know the fix??

Summary: Excellent Printer! Will probably keep using this one until it breaks!
Comment: I've had this printer for well over a year now, and it's fantastic! No problems at all. It prints photo quality prints right to the edge of 8.5x11" paper. It uses the Pictbridge technology that lets you hook many modern digital cameras directly into it, so you don't actually need a computer to use this printer (but nothing beats having a computer to store and edit your digital photos!) The printer has four separate ink cartridges, which are replaceable with cartridges found at your local Staples and Wal-Mart store for a fairly decent price. The printer also prints good quality text quite quickly. Photos take a little bit to print, but not to long.
Combine this Printer with Cannon Photo Paper plus Glossy and a good digital camera, and say goodbye to film and developing labs forever! For example, I used this printer to print a photo which I entered into NJ's state fair photo contest last year, and won second place! Unless you want to print larger then 8.5 x 11, this printer should meet most people's needs.
Only minor problem I found with this printer was when I first started using it, it was leaving thin scratch like streaks on photos where the rollers were touching. I thought it might be due to dirt from the factory left on the rollers. Solution? I put a piece of paper in, and printed a blank page several times to try and clean the rollers. That worked and I haven't had problems since.
I wish there was more to say in this review, but there's not, as this printer is perfect(at least close enough for me)!
