Comment: Bought this printer @ Amazon.com on sale with free shipping. EASY installation & setup and the QUALITY of the photos is simply AMAZING. No one I showed them to could tell that my prints were not from a photo developing lab. Good documentation too. Just be sure to buy the USB cable which is not included. This is an AWESOME printer for VERY little money. HIGHLY recommend. I was a little doubtful as I have always used & like HP printers but this Canon is GREAT.

Comment: Right out of the box, I fired up the printer and used the enclosed photo paper to print up some of the pictures I had taken with my old Kodak digital camera. The results were fast and impressive. I brought a couple of the pictures to work and showed them around. Everyone who saw the pictures couldn't tell they came from an inkjet printer until they really looked closely.
Black text prints crisply and quickly and ink consumption has been better than I expected, given that I'm working my way through a box of 100 4x6 photo papers.
The included software makes reviewing digital pictures simple and printing even simpler. I haven't played with the settings much, but look forward to improving upon my results. The card readers are a nice option as well and actually a deciding factor for me in buying this printer.
The printer itself is lightweight. The power supply is modular and screwed into the printer, but can be removed easily if it needs to be replaced.
Only gripe is that the first printer I picked up was DOA, but the store exchanged it without question. Canon's tech Support line encouraged me to return the printer rather than accept a refurb and didn't waste my time by walking me through a host of unnecessary diagnostics once I explained what I had already tried to revive the first printer.

Summary: Best Photo & All-Around Printer [for price]
Comment: Good price. Cheapest overall cost of ownership because inkjets are cheaper than any HP or Epson and last a very long time (don't worry about it having 1 color cartridge vs. 3 or more separate color cartridges, it's still very cheap). Photo quality comparable to lab. Very good text on plain paper, even in draft mode, and better than Canon i850. Graphics (webpages and photoshop images) are better than i850. Get this over the Canon i850 UNless you're going to print more photos than text (the i850 is slightly better but only under intense scrutiny). Also, this printer can take different kinds of camera media (cf, sm) while the i850 can't. Had it for a month, no problems whatsoever. For the cost of photo quality paper & ink get this printer, otherwise go to a photolab to get your digital pictures printed.

Comment: Put a lot of time into researching photo printers before I picked up this Canon i470d from BestBuy. Brought it home and was immediately impressed. Fast, quiet, excellent quality photo printing. Easy to setup and easy-to-use software comes with. Great options....can print from media card or directly from Canon camera. Very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend it. Just don't forget to buy the USB cord that is NOT included. For your info, I just use this recreationaly to print out some 4x6's. Not doing any technically difficult photo editing or elaborate presentations.

Summary: Canon I470D, a great printer at a great price
Comment: There is not really that much to say about it, I see it as an excellent printer with very good software, fairy fast and does a good job, you dont have to cash in your CD,s or IRA,s to buy it.
Ink consumption is low, results are high.
About the most useful software I,ve ever seen on any printer.
You plug into the printer directly with your media cards, smart media, compact flash, multimedia and something else I think.
If you have a Canon digital camera you can use your existing usb plug and go directly into the printer.
Push a button and you quickly get a picture of what you,ll be getting, by the way, when you plug in a media card, no adapters are required.
A very good printer, also to boot, its nice looking, Canon did a fine job here and obviously was responsive to the needs of the buying public, if you need a printer, look this over, I have not been at all sorry about buying it, strongly reommend it.
