Comment: Not a bad printer; I like the quality of print... but as said elsewhere, very expensive to maintain... Ink cartridges don't last long and are, as far as I can tell, more expensive.

Summary: A little disappointed in my printer upgrade
Comment: I have been using a Canon i550 for several years now printing calendars for my family around xmas time. Each calendar is 13 pages and I print about 20 of them (13 x 20 x 2 sides = 520) at high resolution. I use a lot of ink and the Canon cartridges are easy to refill. The print head died on the i550, so I searched for a new Canon that had similar ink cartridges to refill.
Several of the PIXMA series have cartridges that look the same with the small difference that they have a chip on them. Instead of doing a visual check of the cartridge to determine if ink is low, the chip tells the printer driver after so many prints. Lame, but manageable !
The i550 had 1200 nozzles (if I remember correctly) and the iP6210D has 4800 (again, if I remember correctly). Anyway, I was expecting prints to be much better than the i550. The prints seemed to be about the same, so the extra nozzles didn't seem to make much difference.
The form factor is about the same, but there are a lot more buttons and features available. I don't ever print directly from memory card, so a lot of the features I don't use.
I was also hoping that the print speed of the borderless 8.5 x 11 prints that I use for the calendar would be faster. This printer doesn't seem to print much faster than the older Canon.
Overall it's a good printer, but the quality probably isn't much better than one of the lower end PIXMA printers.

Comment: I got the printer only to find that it doesn't come with a cord to connect it to your computer. After wasting my time going to three different places, the cheapest one was for $50.
Amazon's advertisement that this is "free" with the purchase of a camera is misleading to say the least as it's not honest about the extra $$$$ you have to spend just for a connecting cord. In my opinion, this has been very frustrating and a TOTAL RIPOFF!!
