Summary: Pro Photo paper worth the money
Comment: You'll notice right away that there are many different varieties of photo paper. At first thought, you go for the cheapest. That's fine for general sharing pictures or seeing how an edit came out. But it you want to keep a photo-quality picture and put it in an album or even in a picture frame, buy the Pro Photo Paper. The colors are so much brighter and sharper. I have a Canon PIXMA MP960 All-In-One Photo Printer so stuck with the Canon Pro Photo paper. (*GREAT* printer, by the way.) Everyone that sees my pics, is AMAZED at the quality. Highly recommend you pay the money and get the better paper. Otherwise, why bother printing it out? Just pay an online service.

Summary: Canon PR1: simply the best!
Comment: If you've got a Canon printer (I've got the MP500) and use Canon ink, you really can't beat the PR1 (Photo Paper Pro) line for top quality prints.

I live in Japan so I have to order this 4x6 paper from the States, but over here I buy PR1 paper in every size I print (mainly A4, LL and L) ... I've tried various other brands but nothing beats PR1 in producing consistently accurate, detailed, and beautiful prints. One of the nice things about PR1 paper is that you can very easily proof your setup in Photoshop if you're using a Canon printer; you can download profiles from Canon's website and use them in Photoshop, so you can see exactly what your prints will look like on THIS paper and YOUR printer. Once you've got it set up, just press CTRL+Y to proof, add a level/curve adjustment layer to tweak contrast, etc and print! Very simple, and the results are no less than stunning.

It may be expensive, but for printing at home on a Canon printer, you can't beat this PR1 paper.

Summary: Great photo paper, but high price.
Comment: I've wasted money on other photo paper (hp, jetprint, etc.). My photos came out grainy with vertical lines across the photo. But with Canon Photo Paper Pro, my photos came out perfect.

Summary: Makes a big difference!
Comment: I have a Canon PIXMA IP6700D photo printer. I've always used Kodak premium paper in all of my previous printers, but since getting this printer, the quality isn't that great on the Kodak paper (I can see the dots making up the picture). I read somewhere to try the Canon Pro paper, I thought they were crazy- why should that matter? Wow, can I see a difference!! It is a lot of money, but for printing pics that will be framed or you just want the best possible prints at home, this is the way to go!
