Summary: USED IT HARD FOR 3 YEARS AND CAN'T KILL IT. :)
Comment: This is probably the most incredible & durable piece of electronic equiptment I've ever owned. It's like the Bunny in the battery commercials....keeps going...and going...and going.
I save on ink by buying bulk ink and refilling the black ink containers with a syring, rotating 3 of these. I have only had to replace the printer head 1 time. I have used the parallel cable for my connection, but will try the infrared with my new computer. Previously (3 years ago) , the infrared connection would not work...but likely due to new drivers, etc. Truly one TOUGH road warrier printer!

Summary: 5 years later
Comment: I bought this almost 5 years ago and it still works. the ink is too expensive, and the paper doesn't always feed right, but I've gone through a lot of other printers in the same period of time and this is the only one I still have and use. I travel with it and it gets banged around and has been dropped several times and otherwise abused. I was recently looking for a replacement--thinking that there should be something as good that is new and cheaper, but I was disappointed in everything I saw and I'm just going to keep using this one. It prints just fine (with some help) and is reliable.

Summary: A waste of money
Comment: I bought this printer because I travel a lot. The first time I used it, it printed only half a page. After repeated requests for help, I got it to print --- quit working almost exactly to the date that the warranty ran out. Canon not helpful at all. I am looking for another portable printer but it will not be a Canon.

Summary: Great little printer
Comment: This is a great little printer. It is a little slow but its quality is great. It is quite small and compact, perfect for a traveling business man. All in all this is a great printer.

Summary: Still Going Strong Two Years Later ...
Comment: I have nothing but good things to say about the BJC-80. I've had it for two years, use it almost daily (mostly for color graphics printing) and it's still going strong. It travels well and is very convenient to use. Black and white print quality is excellent and color print quality is out of this world. I have the battery pack and use infrared with my Thinkpad notebook (something about wireless printing that can really impress a client!). I also use the scanning adapter - works fine on the road, but I prefer a flatbed scanner for most jobs.
