Summary: Agree with others about short print life
Comment: I agree with everyone else who has put in a negative word about the lifespan of the Canon 104. I work in a fairly busy office and we just purchased a Canon laser all-in-one a month ago, and when we started noticing having to change the toner every week (!!!!!), I started keeping track of copy/print counts. Even at the lowest density settings, the most we've ever been able to get out of 1 cartridge was 1,300 prints -- a far cry from the advertised 2,000 prints. We are at the point that we will probably return the printer and go with something else. The only reason I gave it an extra star from rock-bottom is the ease of use (hey, if we have to change the cartridge weekly, might as well make it easy to do!).

Summary: Not Original Canon Product
Comment: The description wasn't very clear that this was actually a recycled cartridge, and not a factory new product. However, I don't have any complaints as the copies are clear and clean as though it were a new product. Would have been nice if the description made that more clear.

Summary: It works, but not without its disadvantages
Comment: This toner cartridge works. It either does or doesn't. But it would earn a 5 star if it had a 3000 page capacity and a separate drum. I'm not complaining though, since I was the one who bought the printer to replace an inkjet (even more expensive to use). It's also cheaper on Amazon than in almost any other popular store. By the way, 2000 pages with 5% coverage isn't false advertising. It means that the area of the black part of the text equals 5%, not that the text takes up the top 5% of the paper. But that's still a pretty low average. With the starter cartridge, I got about 980 pages (rated at 1000), so it's off, and some of my pages barely had anything on it. But I use this for light-duty printing at home, so it doesn't really matter too much for me. Don't get a printer that uses this if you print loads of papers. If you buy here, I suggest you buy directly from a reputable seller because one of the previous reviewers got generic cartridges (I received a genuine one from Amazon).

Summary: Lifespan way too short
Comment: I don't know who in the real world averages 5% coverage, which is Canon's spec for getting 2000 prints out of this unit. So you can't believe you'll get anywhere near 2000 prints. I've been averaging about 600. I love my MF4270 printer and get great quality prints, but the toner life is completely unacceptable.

Summary: Canon 104 Toner Cartridge
Comment: We use this cartridge for the Canon MF4150 laser printer. The system is great -- good, crisp copies, nice features on the printer -- except that it goes through these cartridges like my daughter goes through candy. Granted, my wife is a PhD student who prints a LOT of stuff, but a toner cartridge should last more than 500 pages, and that's about all we're getting out of the 104.
