Summary: Great business grade machine
Comment: The Brother 4750e Intellifax fax machine was bought to replace a Pitney Bowes business grade fax machine at our place of business. This is a great machine and has worked out for us without any problems. I would highly recommened this machine for your small business.

Summary: Best Fax Machine I have Used
Comment: I bought this machine based on reviews from a number of users. We have used it for almost two years and it has functioned perfectly. I especially like the scan then send feature. We often load several documents at once to different phone numbers and just let it crank away. Never a problem. It is not cheap but it is professional grade.

Summary: Don't buy this machine - it's a DUD
Comment: I bought this machine on August 3, 2005 and within one week of using it (as an outgoing fax only), there was a machine error. I called customer service and after being on hold for 23 minutes I was able to speak with a live representative. I was told that the machine would need to be replaced. They sent me a REFURBISHED unit (the warranty indicates that any replacement units will be refurbished units). They sent the base unit only, so I had to remove the drum unit, paper tray, and handset from the original fax machine to use with the replacement unit. So, after only a couple of hours of using the replacement unit, I was back on hold to report another machine error. 12 minutes and I finally get a rep. Apparently, the drum unit (which is less than one month old) is bad. So now I'm waiting for the replacement drum unit. DON'T EVER BUY A BROTHER MACHINE. THEY'RE HORRIBLE MACHINES AND TRYING TO GET THROUGH TO CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VERY, VERY TIME CONSUMING.

Summary: A no-brainer-of-a-purchase
Comment: First, let me disclose that I do not own this unit, but I do own what appears to be its predecessor, the MFC 8500 (now discontinued). The 4750e (curiously 1/2 the model number I have) has the same form-factor, the same button layout, the same toner cartridge and the same features but with better technical specifications, e.g. faster fax modem. I AM IN LOVE WITH THE BROTHER MFC 8500 and would guess that this one will provide similar results. I think it's significant that my two-year-old unit never dropped more than $50 in price up to its discontinuation, and its replacement--this unit--is about $100 higher in price. The toner cartridge is cheap compared to other laser printers. The pop-up screen (when linked to a PC) provides simple and intuitive copy, fax and e-mail menus. I've never had to read the manual. It even has the ability to link with your answering machine, so you don't have to be home to switch the phone cords around when you're expecting a fax. If you ask me, the 8500 was such as successful product that Brother probably had to change the model number to allow them to charge a higher price.

Summary: My new BROTHER is great ! !
Comment: I did my homework on this purchase and it really paid off. The stars pretty much tell the whole story... 5 STARS!
