Summary: GREAT printer!!!
Comment: It was the absolute easiest thing I have ever installed on a computer. I literally just had to hook it up and turn on my computer and it did the rest (Windows XP). As for printing, it has been supurb. I do taxes on the side and I made it through tax season perfectly AND I am still on the original toner cartridge! It has definitely paid for itself already!
Do not hesitate to buy for home office use!

Summary: Great black-and-white laser printer
Comment: Brother HL-1650 is very fast. It not only prints fast, but also heats up fast when turned on or getting out of sleep mode. The built-in duplex printing is great.
One minor problem: the Windows printer driver seems to always use the same paper tray, even the same document contains both letter and legal sized pages. The "auto select" or "automatically select" does work. The MUCH more expensive HP printers seem to work fine with the same document.

Summary: Great printer at a great price
Comment: I bought this printer about a month ago because of the rebate and the fact that it has an automatic duplexing feature. At work I have the hp 2200 duplex printer that costs several hundred dollars more and at home I have an NEC laserjet (non-duplex) which I feel is poorly built and designed.
I am glad I bought this printer because I don't see any difference between the print quality of the hp 2200 vs this printer. Although I haven't timed the printing, it seems the double-sided printing is faster on the brother. The only feature that I think hp has over this printer is the wireless printing, but that doesn't matter to me since I don't need it.
Overall, I believe this is a great printer and a great value.

Comment: WE HAVE A VERY SIMILAR PRINTER THE 1470N FOR OUR OFFICE. WE ALSO HAVE A HP LASERJET 5M. THE HP PRINTER COST ABOUT 2K MORE THAN THE BROTHER (AND IT PRINTS COLOR) BUT IT IS SLOW WHERE AS THE BROTHER PRINTS LIKE THE WIND. THE ONLY NEGATIVE I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THE BROTHER PRINTER IS THAT IT SEEMS TO USE A LOT OF TONER, BUT IF YOU CAN DEAL WITH THAT, THE SPEED OF THE PRINTER MORE THAN MAKES UP FOR IT.

Summary: Just What I Had Hoped!
Comment: I own a small newspaper that publishes every other week. I was looking for something to do black and white which was clear and quick to keep up with the workload. I was also in desperate need of something that printed out quality black and white photos and quality graphic images for use in the paper. I was hoping to get a quality grayscale. This printer is all of the above. The installation was very easy and it got better from there. If you are looking for a high quality printer for an excellent price, then this is the one to purchase. Thank you for a great product!
