Summary: works well once you've got it working
Comment: I bought this for my girlfriend so she could play her iTunes music on our living room stereo. After she unwrapped it, we followed the directions to set it up and... nothing. The included "Airport Utility" didn't/couldn't see the Airport on the wireless network, even after I had set it to use the correct password for our wireless lan. I was very close to sending it back for a refund, when some googling indicated that it doesn't like WEP encryption. So as a last resort, I modified our wireless router to use WPA2 encryption instead of WEP, and after that it works like a champ.
I guess the moral of the story is: it can be made to work, and work well, but it's certainly not up to Apple's reputation as an "it just works right out of the box" experience. Expect to have to futz with it!

Summary: excellent way to fill your home with sound
Comment: I purchased two of these. I paired one with my large stereo system in the living room and another with the JBL Spyro speaker set in a bedroom. I now have great sound throughout my home and I didn't have to run any wires. The setup was easy, as I always find with Apple products. I can even control the whole system with my iPhone! This is a great product and it saved me a lot of money compared to a wired system.

Summary: Simple and Easy
Comment: I am no techie and this product was so easy to set up. I am thoroughly impressed. I'm new to Apple/Mac but none of that has mattered. It took me less than 10 minutes to set up this nifty little thing as my wireless base. I downloaded the included cd Airport Utility into my Macbook, plugged my cable modem and printer into the Airport Express, plugged the Express into outlet, followed setup steps and that was it. Everything just works. I was a little worried about the range on this thing but I've been all over our 1900 sq ft home and have had a very strong signal everywhere.
Things this easy are the reason technology is so fun.

Summary: Love my old one, hate the new one so far.
Comment: I bought one of these a few years ago and love it. I just bought a new one and hate it. Spent 2 hours doing the following:
1. configure.
2. test.
3. works okay for 2 minutes.
4. starts cutting out.
5. loses connectivity
6. reset to defaults
7. go to step 1.
Called tech support, spent 1 hour on phone with very polite tech-person but still doesn't work. Will send this one back. Will I get another and try to make it work? I don't know.
FYI, my old Express works fine. I tried swapping the new one in the exact location to see if environmental factors were to blame but the problem remained.

Summary: Great Device to Enjoy your music and remain in full control.
Comment: I have been thinking to buy this damn thing for a long long time. MacMall had a good deal with Bill-Me-Later. Also I recently set up a brand new Home Theater system. I connected the Airport Express to a wall socket closest to me HT, Connected it to my Onkyo 706 with a Y Analog cable and ran the setup utility. Since I already had a router, I connected router and airport wirelessly. That's it. Setup done !!! Got to iTunes and selected the Airport Express on the bottom as the output and songs started playing. Amazing!! Ok now the best thing - I was having dinner and didn't like the song that was playing. Took my iPhone out and opened "Remote" application and could change my songs on the fly! Now that is what I call a perfect setup.
I am planning to hook it up with an optical Audio cable to my Onkyo. Hope that improves the quality of sound even more. Buy it if you don't have a Computer connected to your main entertainment/Music system. Highly Recommended !!
