Summary: Adobe 8.0 Standard
Comment: Adobe Acrobat Standard 8.0 installed with ease on my XP system and "worked" just fine. However, after registering my product I was "offered", a short time later, the latest update from Adobe to version 8.1.1. DON'T download and install this update.....it took forever to do so and afterwards every time I opened a .pdf in Adobe I would receive a message stating that: "Adobe has caused an error in IE and will now close"...and it would close! The updated version (Adobe Acrobat 8.1.1) was unusable! Thank goodness for GoBack (i.e. System Restore) as I was able to restore my operating system to a point before I installed that update. My Adobe Acrobat 8.0 works fine once again but I will always say NO to any further updates!

Comment: I upgraded from version 6 of Adobe Acrobat. The new interface in version 8 is excellent and much more streamlined than previous versions. As in all other versions, the product is a bit buggy but nothing that will hinder your use. Sometimes various functions of the program stop working, but when you reboot you computer they sort of fix themselves. Overall, this is a worthwhile upgrade if for the interface alone.

Comment: I was concerned that this version from Amazon was not Windows Vista compatible. It is! Just install then go to Help > Check for Updates and you will get version 8.1.1 which does work on Vista. I am very happy with this version of Acrobat. It can make a PDF from an Excel workbook regardless of the number of worksheets -- even if there are different print settings between worksheets.

Summary: Not perfect in converting Office 2007 graphics
Comment: I just updgraded from version 7 for the sole purpose of being able to PDF Office 2007 files. It doesn't work yet. Complex graphics with the new sophisticated Office 2007 drop shadows do not convert well. The free Microsoft plug does a good job in about 30% of the time. I am waiting for the patch

Comment: Two problems. One is not enough documentation. The second is that, although the upgrade is an improvement over previous version, it is not a $100 (it's price) improvement over the previous version. $50 - $60 yes. $100, no.
