Summary: PIcture Perfect - Well for $68.00 Perfect enough
Comment: I'm 63 Dyslexic and PC challenged. So while people on this site say easy to install HA. But I installed it and it only took 2 hours. Now if I had to do it again 20 minutes from unpacking to install is all Id need. Printed my first 2 pictures and all was wonderful. The quick install book is in Japanese, no joke however the instruction book is 40 pages and in English, but you only need that if your printing off line, or your creating special effects. The manual looks a little intimidating though, especialy to a Dyslexic.
If you are hooking up to your PC as I did, you need the printer cable from Comp-USA, Microcenter or some such outfit, $25.00
It prints great pictures, good luck.

Summary: Excellent Value and Good Quality
Comment: I am quite satisfied with the purchase. There are some minor flaws like slightly darker picture than what displayed on computer screen (almost hard to notice however). Also this printer can not print from USB Flash drive.
Overall media can get a little pricey but prints are very good and there is always saving when you get a 120 pack.

Summary: Think before you buy
Comment: Before you buy this printer, consider the fact that you can't go down to your local store and pick up some paper when you run out. It uses special (expensive) paper only. Yes, it's easy but for those who want quality this printer is not for you. If you are accustomed to taking your disposable camera to the drug store, then maybe you will like this. But anyone serious about a quality print will be disappointed in this printer. The printer will not print from my memory card because the size is too large. From Photoshop it prints fine but the color is off. The printer is so cheap because they stick you for the supplies. Don't let them stick you too.

Summary: An excellent alternative to inkjet-based printers, & cheaper
Comment: Wish I'd gotten this for my father-in-law instead of the Canon photo-printer that cost more than twice as much, and has not quite as good picture quality. And at the time I thought the Canon was pretty good. Also, there are more features and settings included on this unit. Yes, the special paper isn't cheap, so FROOGLE for a good price and buy in bulk. Heck, it teaches you and yours to be a little judicious with what you choose to print. ;-) I also suspect/hope the price will come down as more people discover this alternative to less than permanent inkjet images, and depleted, dried up, and clogged inkjet reservoirs, and the various annoyances that happen when you don't use your inkjet-based unit regularly.
Loading the color cartridge is very easy; navigating the menu settings is easy and intuitive; accepts the standard array of flash memory cards; nice quality LCD display on which you may view four pics simultaneously; general construction is not flimsy, even attractive, and looks like it should last a good while. Pictures haven't had any pixelation - very photo-lab-like - and seem to be just as resistant to moisture as processed film.
But my favorite feature (one that you'll want the kids to watch to learn the principles of a three-color system) is seeing the unit pull the paper through, coming out the back, then sliding back in to come out the front, with the yellow application, and then again the same sheet goes back and forth to get the red treatment, and then again to get the blue treatment, and then a "finalizing" step. Some may think that's not quite as quick as paper gradually creeping out of an inkjet photo-printer (I haven't stop-watched it), but its fast enough for me and keeps me entertained in the process.
I was really disappointed that a recent issue of Consumer Reports was still focusing on inkjets, and gave very little attention to alternative devices - hey, I like CR, but if they want to serve the consumer, they'd do well to better present these alternatives since many people will find them to be better and cheaper.
One nit to pick... the quick setup guide is basically graphical, with hardly any language instruction, so wasn't too impressed with that, but on the other hand, it was so simple and intuitive to put together that I had my 7th grade daughter try it, which she did easily, plus if you want more detail there is a Users Guide on the included CD.
Again, cannot beat the price.
