Summary: Look elsewhere
Comment: I have PDF Converter Professional 4.0 I doubt if 5.0 is any more functional or reliable than 4.0 Thus I would not recommend this program to anyone. Several features have never worked others work poorly. The interface is awkward. The support knowledge base is very limited. E mail tech support is $10. This is a lot to fix a problem that never should happen. I resent paying money for a program and then being asked to pay more money get the program to work. I used to use Adobe Acrobat 6.0. This worked every time.
My suggestion is that if youuse this program professionally and your time is important to you consider an Adobe program. Certainly don't buy this one. If you buy this program you will regret it.

Summary: Don't buy this product there is no no no no SUPORT.
Comment: Try and regester this product is an impossibility. The questions asked of you are not only personal but intrusive. Your reward for opting out of the process on page 8 is to be gifted with a product that produces immages with "Trial Version" posted diagonally over every page.
No one to talk to no help at all. I just purchased Adobe Professional and now the job is done properly with no intrusion into my personal life.
Listen to the one star people here...and save yourself some time and money.

Summary: Good Software, Terrible Support
Comment: The software is good. But the company, Nuance, makes it very difficult to install or reinstall PDF Converter 5 and charges a hefty fee for service calls. Because of the installation and reinstallation problems and poor support, I am looking for another product for the same job.

Summary: Excellent product
Comment: I have tested this software in several tasks and I'm very pleased with it.
The software installed well, run without problems and I have not had any problem with the operative system. My OS is Windows XP service pack 2.
The software make very good work with any kind of PDF and in my experience the format is almost the same that the original. To convert to PDF there are several opitions of security and even you can configure one personal.
The interface is easy to manage and intuitive. Maybe the process to register is not easy and this is something to improve in the future.
I have not used the support yet because I have not had problems with the product.
September 6:
In these days I have known the product pdf printer that make a good job and is very intuiteve, so I believe that nuance should think about improve its interface and that it could be very pleasant for the user to have a tree structure similar to the explorer to achieve the pdf conversion's process instead of use the interface of the pfd create and this could make the software a very good one.

Summary: PDF Professioinal Converter 5
Comment: This product would not work properly in a fully updated Windows XP Professional system and fully updated Internet Explorer 6.X.
It would open *.PDF files that had been saved to my hard drive but would not open *.PDF files that were accessed through links from Outlook Express. It would open some internet resident files that were accessed directly from Internet Explorer.
Both Adobe Reader 8.X and 9.X had no problem opening the same *.PDF files.
Great perseverance was required to return this product to its manufacturer, Nuance, without paying return postage.
